Thank You Skip
In 2019 East Harlem lost a community legend.
Floyd 'Skip" Branch began NYC Bombsquad Basketball in 1995 as a way to give back the community that raised him. He brought teamwork and work ethic to the neighborhood by running the camp with the very friends he grew up with in East Harlem. They were focused on building good people more than great basketball players.
Between Skip's passing and the pandemic the camp had been shelved.
This year, through the tireless efforts of those same friends that assisted Skip in running his camp - lead by Bernard Bowen, Sr - the Saturday programming will start again - under a new name:
SKIP'S SKILLS & DRILLS
If you know any youth in the neighborhood who would like to join the fun, please reach out. And don't let the $25 fee hold you back. Skip always found a way.
Good things.
